Though the characteristic red eye is not very apparent
in the above picture, the
rock bass
is the red-eyed
answer to this question. The Minnesota state record rock bass weighed two pounds
(Mn DNR,
2014). The world record is three pounds. If these little beauties aren't
wormy, they're actually not bad eating. Just pretend they're crappies, and
cook em' up!
